Scribes 2023 annual CLE included a panel discussion on “The Use of AI in Legal Writing.” This thought-provoking and timely program examined the impact of generative artificial intelligence (AI) on legal writing. A distinguished panel, moderated by Justice (ret.) John G. Browning, a former Texas appellate justice who chairs the State Bar of Texas AI Taskforce, discussed what AI is, how it is being used and misused by lawyers, how AI can be used ethically and effectively in legal writing, and how courts are reacting to the use of generative AI. Is AI the “future of legal writing?” Watch our program and find out. After the panel discussion, Scribes recognized some of the 2023 Scribes award winners, including Book Award winner Professor Frederick Schauer.

A recording of the discussion is available here.
